We have an online email discussion forum at Yahoogroups called tamil_nalam where
we have more than 200 health care and non- medical professionals take part in
the discussion group. The participants are from 20
states in USA and representatives from medical organizations in Canada, UK,
Australia, Norway, Malaysia and New Zealand.

25th Anniversary Celebrated With a Cause in Mind in June 2007
Bala & Sothi’s anniversary party turned out to be a success attended
to full capacity, every one enjoyed the Sri Lankan live band. They felt that
they made the private party preparations more enjoyable by focusing on the cause
by making the gifts to go to a worthy cause. Sothi picked the IMHO Women Forum
because it is the only charity in the area focusing on women’s need back
home. She thought women usually take a leading role in organizing such events
and found a women's cause benefiting back home is more appropriate on their special
day and also the thought of the doubling effect by the Operations USA was a contributory
factor to nominate IMHO Women's forum for gifts.
 They both enjoy singing, music, dancing and while they had them all on this
occasion remembering their wedding 25 years ago it was comforting for them to
know that the women who are suffering back home will receive at least a fraction
of their pleasure in the form of "basic need for their daily survival".
Sothi felt that all that they gave up was the unwanted gifts that would clutter
the garage!! She would recommend it for anyone who feels for the people back
home, and the least anyone can do from abroad.
Many more women would feel the need to celebrate the important days in their
lives to keep them happy and healthy by benefiting the needy. In this couple’s
case the party certainly did just that.
If anyone in the area or at reachable distance need
help in organizing such a party benefiting the women back home let Sothi know
and she will try and help.

Past Forum Events
IMHO has a women's forum focusing on women and children health and welfare
all over the world. Our operations are with the support of operation USA
and IMHO. We need help from the moms, sisters, grandmas and ladies around
USA to help the women in need around the world. Our focus now is to help
the Srilankan women displaced in Tamilnadu in refugee camps and also many
other projects are ongoing through operation USA gives us more exposure
to various parts of the world.
I am inviting everybody to come for the meeting on January 21st at 5,
Rushton Court, Princeton Junction (West Windsor), New Jersey at 12 noon.
Lunch will be provided. I request each one of you bring atleast 5 other
women to the meeting. This is an informative meeting to start the operations
and to mobilize the women to this exciting opportunity. If you cannot actively
participate due to your other commitments atleast coming for the meeting,
being part of our email group and spreading the word is the biggest help.

ONLY AND BE READY TO SIGN UP IN THE EMAIL GROUP. From Operation USA, Nimmi
Gowrinathan from LA will update you all on the opportunities available
and the current needs.
We will have youth available to help you set up your emails etc. Please
reply with the head count of women you are bringing for the meeting to
help us arrange for food. You could bring your small children with you.
